About

Ken Galbreath, owner and maker, was raised in Western North Carolina and settled just outside of Asheville after leaving the Army. He has pursued many paths, but he has always been a builder. When the pandemic of 2020 shut down the world, Ken moved to to a hollow in the mountains on the east fork of the Pigeon River to open his shop.

How to start the design process

First, you tell us what you want. Give us an overall idea of what you are looking for as far as function and form as well as any details that are important to the design that you have in mind. For example, “I want an entertainment console with room on the top for a 60” wide television and storage space for 300 VHS cassettes. I would like it to be around 24” tall, 20” deep, and 60-72” wide. Most of the furniture in our space is dark, so we would like to look at darker woods.”

We will then ask you a lot of questions about the design, the space where the piece will be, hardware preferences, artistic elements, etc... Once our curiosities are satisfied, we will render a sketch for you. This is the opportunity for you to make alterations to the design. We will go back and forth with sketches, comments/questions, and more sketches until you are happy with the sketch.

Upon agreement on the sketch, we will send you a quote for the piece. If you agree, then we will invoice you for 50% of the cost. The remaining 50% is due upon receipt.

Cost is for construction only. Delivery and installation are the responsibility of the customer unless explicitly noted in the quote.
